Sam Devlin has the Godzilla 16 see: http://www.devlinboat.com/dcgodzilli.htm

Glen-L has the 9' Tubby Tug and the 15' 6" Sherwood Queen. see: http://www.glen-l.com/

Ken Hankinson has the 16' Sweet 16 which looks like a real tugboat. See: http://www.boatdesigns.com/cgi-bin/s...d=7232055_4230

Phil Bolger has the 14'6" Micro Trawler. See: http://www.common-sense-boats.com/micro_trawler.htm

There's also the 14' Candu EZ. I don;t know who the designer is, but here's a web page diary of one being built. http://www.angelfire.com/wi2/minitug/

Try doing a web search on "mini tug plans" - you'll find a lot of links to look through.

These boats can give a false sense of security to the novice builder. In 99 a student of the North Carolina Maritime Museum completed a mini tug and towed it home for outfitting. He wanted to sail it up river a few miles from home back to Beaufort to attend the May Wooden Boat show.A squall came up hard that morning,I know, because it nearly blowed me off the pop-up bridge coming over with my boat in tow from Pamlico County. When I arrived at the Museum a hard blow was coming down Mainstreet and the Staff looked unhappy.I later learned the outboard-powered boat capsized near the horn(the Point),with all hands lost. They are cool little boats no doubt, just stay in sheltered waters,if you can.

Why no links to lewisboatworks? I like the tugger. I've started building the chugger and the spacepod will be my next try.

There are no plans for the Tugger.Steve Lewis is working on a table of off sets but hasn't been able to finish them due to work and family life.

Here is the group for Lewis Boat Works.

Thank you for the warning. It was needed. And should be posted on the plans.
These mini-tugboat are lightly built which make them attractive but in the same time not very seakindly.
