| Hull: West system and balsa (duracore) sandwich I have a project to run a construction of one dragon boat of 90 feet (Asian Boat race canoe) 50 crew i want to use balsa sandwich with two layer at +45/-45 inside and the same layers composition outside plus one horizontal for classic boat looking and longitudinal strenght i prospect to use for wood one local species to be very close in weight, smell and veneer than the red cedar i have already built one mini transat on this process (whith mahogany) But i expect any advises, experiences (good or bad) For all your help thanks so much Best regards Michel Couderc PS/ sorry for my poor english |

| The question I would have regarding your plan is will the duracore strips bend enough to conform to the curve of the hull at the 45 degree angle? If they will I think it will work fine. I have heard of many boats built in a very similar fashion. It sounds like you will need a lot of duracore and a lot of epoxy. |
