Finish varnish coat

Hello I was wondering how to finish my varnish job. It's African mahogany in the interior. I've done a few coats already and I've been sanding with 180 grit garnet paper in between coats. What I am wondering is how do I do the last coats? What grit should I use to sand the second to last coat? Should I sand the last coat and with what grit? Wet sand? What type of brush gives the best finish coat?

thanks in advance,
David
