| Not sure about the way Gonzo does it but I just epoxy the tape on the seams the paint protects the ply well enough if it's not abused to bad. Although I have had a little 13' that i built that way that lived about 30' from the high water mark I just dragged it to the water when i wanted to use it and it lasted for 5 years with no ill effects with only a yearly painting my son now uses regularly over his summer break from school and she's still solid.

| No epoxy, polyester and mat. These are economy boats. They last at least three years.
