CPES plank seams before caulking?

My '61 45 ft Connie (plank & batten construction) needs some recaulking. After cleaning debris out of the seams, would it make any sense to lay in a coat of CPES before filling with polysulfide?

Thanks for any & all comments, this is a superlative site.

The wood needs to take up water and swell to become water tight. The cauking helps lock everything together when the wood swells and compresses it so....no...wouldn't do that if I were you.
