That's a hard question to answer without more info. Do you want to build a traditional skiff with real wood, copper rivets, lapped planking etc.? Or are you thinking plywood and epoxy? What is your experience with woodworking and boat building?

I said it was a hard question to answer - but not because there aren't a lot of designs out there. Quite the opposite. There are literally hundreds of designs that might be suitable. Here are a few to consider. I'm sure that others will have many more suggestions.

For a traditional, solid wood row/sail skiff, see Richard Kolin's book Traditional Boatbuilding Made Easy: Building Heidi (available through Amazon.com and the WoodenBoat store among other places). OR see Harry Bryan's Daisy at http://www.harrybryan.com/harrybryan/plan5.html

For a traditional looking plywood/epoxy design that seems simple to build, see Karl Stambaugh's Bay Skiff 12 at http://www.cmdboats.com

Also check out Phil Bolger's designs at http://www.instantboats.com/

Also see the plans listings at D.N Goodchild's site http://dngoodchild.com/subject.htm

that ought to get you started....

For anything of wood of that size, I always refer to:

www.woodenboat.com

There you can pick and order some nice plans!
