The keel scarf before priming. They are not glued just with DeWitts neoprene and bolted.

The pattern for tracing the bearding line on the keel.

The steel shoe with coal tar (two coat) ready to be put in place.

Thnk you again for your support. It is a fun project, and I enjoy it immensly.
By the way, personal note, I should spend more time building and less time being an ass on the forum. And I know when I am one
More pictures next two weeks.
Target is September. target is one thing, reality an other.
Stay tune.

Let us know when you are one, the next time it happens.

Maybe we can learn something.......................

.......not to avoid being one, no, just to improve the appearance

Sequance for building the frames

This is the half frames assembly on the jig after the bevel are sawn.

The boat is built with a double log chine outside the planking, avoiding notching the frames.

By the way, this is the drawing of Loudoun the houseboat.
The original Loudoun was the name of Mr Lewis Nixon' houseboat which he designed for his own use in 1899. Mr. Nixon was a naval architect involve in battleship design, like the Maine.
The original Loudoun was a splendor. A steam houseboat with triple expension engine (Richard will know what its mean better than me) and a speed of 12 knots.
She was 110' in length, with all the luxury of the end of the nineteen century.
The decription of the crew is interresting:
A Master, a Chief engineer, two Fire man, two sailor, and two steward.
Mr Nixon knew what comfort was

Any way, this is what will look the houseboat in construction with 23' on deck, 8'6" beam a draft of 1'3" and an outboard engine of 9.9 hp. The engine is hiden in the counter stern.
The displacement will be 3800Lbs.
