And underwood is only an hour and a half from here. But to find that other product should I just call around to marine supply places? is it specifically marine or might other kinds o places have it?

aeromarine does shipping, as most of these suppliers. Why going to a shop when you have to drive 3hrs? (and waste fuel)

Lol cause I'm not a patient person. To me it's better the spend the gas and drive time to get it myself then to wait for it to ship.

bronze is absolutely better If you want to have a peace of mind when you are on the open water, bronze screws are the absolute choice. Bronze scewe price is much more expensive than steel and stainless steel screws. The prices are so different with retailers that 2-3 times of difference in price isn't abnormal. So if you shop around online, you can still find good deals. Go to www.j2depot.com. Their price is pretty good. Another thing to pay attention to is that it is better to use thread cut wood screws instead of thread rolled. The later is much weaker because the shank is thinner.

If your NEVER going to be in salt water stainless steel is fine. Salt water over time basically disolves stainless steel but has zero affect on silicon bronze screws. Remember there are several grades of bronze so read up on it. Google grades of Bronze.
