| 11' Inflatable - Transom Replacement Hello to the pro's, heres my current situation; I have a 1994 11' Quicksilver Inflatable with a rebuilt 1993 merc 15. I have put a lot of time, energy, and patience into the motor over last winter, and now i am learning that my transom is sub-par. Now, I could probable have simply reglued the few spots where the rubber tube-brackets were loose and been on my way. But, when I started to do that, the next thing I knew I had removed the entire transom. I am (kinda) glad I did. The lower third is pretty wet. Its a 1" transom, looks like it is actually two pieces glued together. Could I cut a new one out of 1", and have adequate strentgh? (I have transom braces that atach to the floor) (I also have custom-ordered a stainless steel 'U' to set under the motor. The plate will be 10"X10"1" Any ideas? Thanks, Chris |
