Help List All Different Makes Of Surface Drives!

Thanks for the reply! Those are excellant numbers. I'm sure if you disassembled those drives you would find the part numbers you needed right on the bearings and seals. I would be very surprised if there were any parts in there that were only available thru the drive manufacturer.

Steve I openned the drives up and they we in bad shape. They had been worked on by third country nationals who though it was ok to knock in bearings and used form-a-gasket like they owned stock in the company. I did get most all the bearings (timken made in france but I upgraded to german FAG) with the exception of a needle beering. My problem is with spares on hard parts like the rudder clevis which had been damaged.

I have understood that it was an arneson knock off and the manufacturer does not want to have anything to do with it less he gets sued.

After looking a little more closely at your pictures I think that the socket housings are Arnesons. It looks like someone just made some custom thrust tubes for them. Have you talked to Rik at Arneson Industries? He is by far the most knowledgable person you will find when it comes to surface drives.

Most opinions you will find on this board are tainted by an unknown childish agenda when it comes to anything related to Arnesons. So if you are looking for an informed opinion I would call Rik. He is very helpful and knows his stuff!

Chris, most probably SBM, but surely not Victory Design. The logo "Victory" cast on the rams is not linked to a design of mine, but to a race team in Turin, owned by the man - I believe - behind this occasional SBM's venture into SD. If so, all seals and bearings should be pretty straightforward metric stuff.

SBM marine is looking like the best bet right now. Even though they deny it....I cannot find anyone else that comes close... I was hoping someone out there has seen a similar system.
