| volvo 8.2 DP-SM gimbal bearing I have a 8.2 Volvo DP-SM, the gimbal bearing went bad. it is a convex shaped outer race that I see no way to install. I cut a slot in it to remove it or it would not have come out. There are no circlips, it only goes in from the rear. It has 2 small notches in the housing that looks like you could slip it in and then turn it? Maybe? Any help, suggestions? |

| Seems like you cut the bearing in two and removed only the inner gimballed part. The outer ring comes out. It is press-fit. You need to either use a bearing puller or if the engine is out, hammer it out.
