OMC Cobra to Volvo Duoprop

I recently ground down the gears in a old '89 OMC OD. After learning of the OMC curse I'm considering converting to a Volvo SX. Is there a conversion to go directly to a Volvo Duoprop model for increased performance? The motor is a GM V8. I haven't confirmed the displacement but I assume it's a 5.7L.

The story is that the Volvo conversion is simple but I can't find any manuals or documentation to help me through. Are you aware of any sources?
