Oil?

I have a 1975 140 hp merc i/o. Need to change engine oil. What should I use?
Tag on the engine says use 30 wt. A.P.I. type SI. The local merc shop says use Merc 25/40 wt. type SJ; has detergent in it. Should I be using a non detergent oil?
What is best? What about additives? Like Hyper Lube. Is that a good idea?
The motor has a lot of hours on it and I run it hard in the salt water.

Use 30W detergent. Not sure if they are worth it or not, but see no problem with additives...
