Toyota
also make a sterndrive but I think they are all Yamahas?
Problem with Yamaha is they are still wearing a court settlement on stealing OMC technology and hence you cant get them in all countries

PS when you need to repair an outdrive that when you learn the real difference.
From the 80's I remember a volvo housing cost more than a complete Merc upper or lower drive
BMW you dont want to know...if you could get spares
Dont forget when Merc had props, steering and trim that worked Volvo didnt until they got in bed with OMC
BMW had potential but they completly f**ked it by attempting to copy ideas from others and got it badly wrong.
IMHO If BMW had used someone from Merc to call the shots they would have the superior product today

the gear train was, dont know about the rest but that could explain the features and aluminium that should have been on the inside of a boat and not in sea water.
It was clear they went around and asked people who made what they thought were similar items and said ok its for a sterndrive...mistake!!
MK1 lower unit housing was a copy of a volvo and Mk II they decided they now know it all....and god knows who made the propellors, what a cock up
Sachs made the trim rams and clearly had no idea what a stern drive is required to do
Inline petrol engines they copied the cooling systems from very old Mercruisers and heat exchanged the engines but ran the salt through the manifold..oops
All the engines still had points ignition when all the oppostion had already moved on..
As I said..has potential but what a cock up
