me again

Hi there I have a line on a mid 80's 140 volvo with transome asembly($950). I currently have a old 140 volvo (1969) that is in my boat now. Will this work for me or would I have to do a bunch of mods and is my outdrive even compatible????

My guess is it will bolt on with little fuss. Do they look the same? I'm guessing your Volvo 140 hp engine was bolted to a 200 series outdrive - and the mid 80's outdrive is either a 270 or a 280 series. If this is the case, it'll work fine and you can even use the same bolt holes in the transom; though you may have to trim a top corner of the cut-out for the new transom shield.

Yeah they do look very similar I am going to check out the motor on Wed to see for sure. So if everything looks good and the motor is as nice as he says it is do you think $950 is a good deal or am I getting taken for a ride????

What's included in the transom assembly? Does the engine have the exhaust manifold and all other accessories?
