max rpm on 5.7L

What is the max rpm on an 86 5.7l omc cobra? Right now it is turning 3000 max with a raker 14.5x20. We are wanting to reprop to pull skiers better but dont want to over rev while just riding.

I'm not sure but 3000 seems pretty low, I'd say max RPM for a 5.7L should be between 4400-4800

I have a 1989, 4.3 liter v/6 omc cobra. My red line is 4400. However with a 14.5 x 19 I can trim up without cavitating and reach 5000 R.P.M.. I hate to say it but if your only getting 3000 R.PM., I think you have a significant problem.
