removed bottom casing to replace impeller .i am now having problems getting the gears to engage (f.n.r).tryed putting gear shaft in forword and the gear sellector lever,but still having great difficulty in sorting this problem(lower drive is only 12 months old).any help would be great thanks

on the alpha yo should haVE gear selector in forward to remove and install drive
at the top leading edge of the lower unit is the shift coupler make sure this is lined up with the other half above it often you can see this just by rising the drive if this is not it drop the lower put gear shift in forward and the put lower unit in forward to insure it's in the right gear the prop should not spin reverse

thanks redtech for your advise.manged to sort problem out although i did have to adjust shift cables slightly.
