Chev V8 Electrical Parts I need to buy a new alternator and starter motor for my 307 chev v8, I don't have a parts book, I'm guessing it should be identical to 305 v8 parts. Are these any good or does someone know of any better versions. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-M...spagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-V...spagenameZWDVW I'm also desperate for a Y Pipe to fit the volvo penta 270 outdrive. Thanks

I would take a guess at that too, Infact its probably the same as the 350. I see that you come from Aus ,--- thats iether Australia or Austria? if its the first one then thats better.

The Chevy small block has two starter types, diagonal and straight across bolt patterns. Other wise they are the same, unless you need a high torque, geared unit. 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400 small block Chevy starters are all interchangeable. If this is for a boat, of course you'll need the marine version. Alternators are similar in nature, though the output will vary as will the bracket(s) to mount it.
