5 liter apha 1 engine stalls

My 1999 Crownline 5 liter Alpha 1 keeps stalling after idling for almost exactly
25 seconds. It stall quicker when I push the throttle forward. The boat ran fine about two months ago where it ran fast for about 1 1/2 hours. I took the fuel filter off to empty it and reinstalled. The engine then ran for 60 seconds before stall. The fuel filter is about 5 years old as I bought the
boat last year and have just checked the fuel filter. Any ideas? thanks in
