| why does it have a centerboard???? i have an 8' pram and it was homebuilt(not by me) all of the prams of this type have sails but this one doesn't. the pram does have a place for a centerboard. is there any need for a centerboard if there is no sail? is it a good idea anyway? the boat will be motored with a 2.5 or rowed. Thanks, Kayakn |

| The centerboard or more likely the daggerboard case (typical of most prams) could be removed, if not intending to sail. There's no advantage in having it aboard if you're not sailing. Of course you'll want to seal up the slot in the bottom of the boat, other wise your socks will get wet and you'll test the amount of floatation that has (or hasn't) been installed. |

| Take the board out. Make an identical one. Then cut the copy off where it sticks out of the hull. Put that one in the slot, keep the other one in your garage. If you ever get sails or sell the boat, put the long oine back in the boat.
