| You first need to specify what is it that you are calculating.

| Hi, You will need to explain what you are trying to calculate for your ship. Displacement, drag, power, stability or general design and layout? Are you supposed to be creating a new design and providing construction data, or analysing and existing vessel. Your thesis must have some required outcomes. There are all sorts of experts here who may jump in and make some reading suggestions if nothing else, but you will need to make the effort to type out what you are trying to do properly. |

| Laranjo, Are you, by any chance, talking about permissible length curves? Rodrigo |

| Sounds like you may be up against it already Laranjo, a thesis is a huge job and it sounds as if you are stuck at step 0. Correct me if I'm wrong. Why dont you start out by typing up out a statement of requirements (SOR) decide on your length, beam, draft, purpose, intended cargo, range, displacement, what is the design standard you need it to comply with. Think it though and see what existing designs have to offer and maybe base your starting point on a similar existing design. Im not the person to help you, but hope you succeed at this. If you want any one else to jump in and give advise, you will need to get off you ass and start gettin on with the job. I hope this doesnt offend you, but this forum is like any other place where people are asked to offer their advice (time) for free. They are much more likely to asisst a young guy in his studies if you do your bit and make a proffesional start to the assignment. No one has the time or inclination to write a book for you to get started. They may be happy to help you fill in the gaps when you get stuck though, thats what this is all about Jeff |

And as for me all i want is to make my future better. ^__^ . I was asking some questions because i want to learn more . Actually what mr.JRD said. It actually gave me a boost.
