Incline Experiments - The good, the bad, the ugly.

Has anything interesting happened to you on one of your incline experiments that you would be willing to share for the benefit of others?

I'll throw out this brief one:

A year ago we were doing a test on a 120' fishing trawler in January. The temperature was a little below freezing and a light snow had fallen the night before. We were using concrete blocks for weights, and we failed to completely clean the deck of the thin layer of snow/ice before placing the weights in position. Well, after the second weight move we looked over and the 4,000 pound blocks were starting to slide across the deck, because their weight had compresed the thin layer of slush into an ice layer. Fortunately the bulwarks caught the weights without any significant damage. Lesson learned: make sure the weights won't slide!
