Western Australia - looking for part-time help

I have just started the construction of a 17m catamaran. I am building using Du-Flex. I am looking for someone to lend a hand on a casual basis. It would suit retired or semi retired handyman or tradesperson, or anyone that likes messing around with boats. I was using someone local but he has been unwell lately and cannot continue. I know this is a long shot but worth typing a few words I thought. The boat is located very close to Mandurah in Western Australia. I have a boat for sale and once this has been sold I will be in a position to get things moving faster. Anyone know anyone, or know anyone who knows anyone. Thanks.

Just registered thanks to a pm by a mate who saw this and gave me the heads up on another forum (cheers Hans )

Mate Im down south of you in Brunswick Junction and could possibly give you a few hours now and again... possibly more next year

Theres a possiblity I could possibly round up a couple of young helpers (mid twenties) as well as I have a nephew in Pinjarra and a son in law I could rope in as I go past Harvey and another in Australind who doesnt shirk hard yakka for his new ubeaut father in law... depending on what theyre up to on a given weekend... I may even be able to convince the father in law to wander up and give a hand when hes not up in Darwin on his 10mtr cat... bit of first hand knowledge you know?

Im also after a boat... so any info on the one your selling would be good and we may be able to do some sort of deal???

As yet I havent spent any time working this forum out but will do ASAP
Ive also got a good shed of woodworking tools and machines so if needed some work could be done down here and bought up as required.

Hi Shane, Thanks for the response. In a week or two I will be laminating the first hull and the fairing during Janurary, I could do with some help then for sure. PM me your e-mail and I'll give you some more info

Maybe it is something to do with being a brand new member, and a automatic restriction on what you can do until you hit a few more posts or after a certain time (to stop spamming and such)? I know I have encountered these sort of things in other forums.

Hi Hans - and Shane, Yes that is the boat I need to sell (on the web site) before I can really get things moving. I can probably carry on at this rate for around 6 months then things start getting a bit expensive - oh and the money will have ran out too. So the boat will have to be gone by then. Got your e-mail will send you some details of were the boat is etc and where we are at

Had a feeling that would be the one John... okay we gotta yarn!!

As to Sunday... mmm would love to but I think the missus would shoot me if I shot of to Mandurah with the bathroom in bits!! Renos happenin just now... should be done by Monday so next weekend may be better for me? Let me know eh!

Pls tell me more about your job. I am Finnish citizen 62 yrs age. but very still going strong. Lifetime experience with sailboats. Even prof level construction, epoxy / grp. Also woodwork. Interesting to see Australia & doing work there? Brgds, Ex. Pilot, Valpen Finland
