Sr Machinery Engineer 10002225

Job is in Marinette, WI
Contract position

Senior Machinery Engineer is to develop the functional designs of the various Machinery systems for the project to which assigned.

Assist the Lead Machinery Engineer in determining the technical requirements of the project as related to Shipboard Machinery Systems.

Apply the technical requirements in developing Machinery Arrangements and purchase technical specifications as related to equipment selection along with the ability to verify the functional design through calculations and validate the design through test procedure development.

Provide technical support/problem resolution to the Machinery Department customers during installation, alignment, and testing.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering, supplemented by a minimum of 5 years of shipboard machinery system or comparable industry design experience.

High School education plus 10 years of ship machinery design experience.

Ability to interpret customer specifications as related to machinery system requirements into functional documentation required to cost effectively design the perspective vessel (or comparable industry system) is a qualification of the Machinery Engineer.

It is a plus if his years of experience include a familiarity of Regulatory Body Requirements associated with the Shipbuilding industry (i.e. ABS, 46 CFR, and U.S. Coast Guard).

It is a plus if the Senior Engineer has extensive experience utilizing primary design tools (AutoCad 2D/3D, Bentley Explorer and Baan IV MRP system or PipeNet), as well as shows competence in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software tools.
