Magnesiacore looking to connect with boat/ship builders

Hi,

I have a new material that I believe may be well suited for boat and ship building in place of plywoods. Looking for discussion and input on the possibility in Marine Construction applications.

Our website is www.magnesiacore.com.

My email is tony@magnesiacore.com

An important feature of magnesiacore material is that when properly sealed against becoming waterlogged it will float in water.

mechanical test

Do you have mechanical test?
to evaluate this core i need a sheet with
density available
and for each density
compressive strenght
compressive modulus
tensile strenght
tensile modulus
shear strenght

I'm confused here. At 980 kg/cu.m, it is only just lighter than water, yet is being touted as a better core than plywood, which is far lighter. Currently in the sailing boat world we use cores that run 80 to 200 kg/cu.m, with the heavier one being what we stick under large winches. Where would you want something almost as heavy as FRP but with less strength?
Steve
