| How do I get into boat building? Hi there, I am looking to start a career in boat building but am having difficulty finding a company. Could someone give me a bit of guidance as to where to look or any companies that are looking for an apprentice? Would be happy to do a trial period to show what I can do and how keen I am. I have two and a half years joinery experience and am currently studying architecture at university. I am looking for work In Australia,New Zealand, UK area. Thanks John |

| Build a small boat of your own. You would then have something tangible to show. Someone as motivated as that would be more credible. (not that you are not credible now) Your build method should reflect the type of boat building that you want to work in. Steel, Wood, Composit Reason, I wrote this is that I too, a few years back, tried for a position. I had all the skills but no boat experience. The answere for a dream job in Miami was "No. You must have some experience." |
