French Naval Architect seeks a job in the USA.

Hello,

I am graduated in naval architecture in France and I will work in a famous french naval rules society in Paris in september. I have ever wanted to live in the USA. And while I spent time in Virginia (May 2003), I realized I am convinced to work in boatbuilding here.

So, I seek informations and contacts in the USA, and found some during my vacation there, to prepare myself to work there in one or two years. Or less. But I think it is difficult for a foreigner to find a job in this field. So, I take time to meet people and come back in the USA as soon as requested.

I stay at your disposal if any info or request.

Sincerly.

Matt

hi,

I think that the term naval architect you employ would be misleading to some of the readers of the forum.
Having read your cv, i understand that you "only" followed the BTS course in St nazaire. As you know, most the guys wanting to work in yacht design go to Southampton after the BTS.
Naval architect is unfortunately not a regulated job in France, so everybody can be a Naval Architect.

About the subject...

Guest,

You are right, naval architect is not a regulated job in France and thus everybody can be a Naval Architect.

I just wanted to clearly and simply tell my graduate. This way is more efficient. And the title of my graduate could be misleaded to. It means building, but I didn't only learn the building but the design, management and calculation too.

Could you tell me about you Guest ? Are you from France ?

Sincerly.
