Thanks in advance

Depends on the project. The skill of the practitioner. There's a lot of guys in Florida who know a lot about fiberglass and it's applications who are still making 8-10 bucks an hour. Some of the older more experienced fellows don't want to work the chemicals anymore. Seems like everyone dislikes the fiberglass.

$8-10.00 for a glass Guy that does Vinylester Resin/Vacuum Bagging??? If so, why so cheap? It's a shame that in Florida the Marine Market is HUGE and the Craftsmen only make that little....now if someone KNOWS a good deal....is 12-14 an hour a OK pay? Just trying to figure out what the market bares

Kev,

Supply and demand. The market IS huge in S FL, but there are thousands of people that can "do 'glass work".

But, with the skills you mentioned, if you can get into a good, reputable yard or manufacturer, and prove that you are better than the average "glass guy", then the $ is a bit better.

Also, ain't many people making much money around boats these days.

Good luck,
Jon.

There are people making money with the bigger yards, and those are the clients we are working with. We are a recruiting firm, and we have openings for lamination & assembly team leaders, electrical & mechanical & product engineers, design (CAD) engineers and marine engineers.

Please e-mail us at:

Thanks,

You've been around the chemicals too long . I'm from Maine, no one pays well up here but with 12 years experiance i won't get out of bed for 10.00 an hour
