CAD design work?

I am an avid sailboat/powerboat guy and work for an aerospace engineering company and am considering doing part-time CAD design work for powerboats. We take old-style blueprints and put them into a 3-D computer model format, solid modeling, etc, where you can take a 2-D, say, hull design, and make it 3-d, modifying whatever you want, and make it exact before you even build it. Does anyone think that this service would be used by smaller boatbuilders/racers? I think that this could save people a great deal of money and time in design/mods.

Thanks, bbmonty@yahoo.com

plan alteration

i have a set of plans for a 50' sailboat. i would like to change the design of the bow and sail plan. is this within your field of endeavor? i'm trying to ascertain whether it is more feasible to change these plans or find something closer to what i desire. thanks
