[Ile de Patiras]

We run a couple of gites on an island in the Gironde estuary, France; Our normal season runs between the end of June until the end of September, and outside that, barring the odd week, the gites sit empty. Our view is that they would be suitable for running residential courses of a watersport orientated nature (sea kayaking, powerboat training, sail training etc). The site consists of 2 gites comprising 5 bedrooms (expanding to 3 gites with 8 bedrooms next year and 4 gites with 11 bedrooms the year after) teaching area, large covered barn for equipment, swing moorings and slipway. The weather is normally good here between the end of March up till November.

We are looking for someone to undertake the complete running of courses; we are looking to merely provide the accommodation, although, understanding what it takes to get a small business off the ground we would be available to lend a hand as needed. I have over 20 years sailing and kayaking experience at national level, and my wife has instructor qualifications in kayaking and canoeing, and we both hold our powerboat certificates.

We would be interested in hearing proposals from anyone, be it a couple of weekends a year, to a full time, year-round operation.
