Boat Design Manager Opportunity

We have been retained by a leading Manufacturer of Luxury Performance marine craft (Sport boats and Sport Yachts, Deck Boats) to assist them in finding a top notch Boat Design Manager to be based in Florida. They are a highly regarded company, known for design, function and innovation.

The Design Manager will be responsible for developing the design and will oversee the construction of plugs and prototypes of the company’s new products. The position is open due to the desire to bring the work in-house. Presently they are using an Italian design firm. They prefer the EU sleek designs. Their product line runs from 22 feet to 52 feet, sport boats/yachts and deck boats. Most of the plugs are handled in house, all design modeling, molds and prototypes are in house.

The Design Manager will provide leadership to the design department. They will evaluate the department and make recommendations on the adequacy of the staff and any need to expand. They will insure all new models are “Best in Class”, will have continuity with the company’s product line. The company is interested in branding their products. They will insure the product meets the design criteria and the product is manufacturable. They must be competent in Rhino 3D modeling, hand drafting and project management
