Wrist Watch GPS for dinghy sailing

I have been looking for a small and inexpensive (<$200) GPS wrist watch. I will be using it for dinghy sailing and windsurfing. The only function i need is basically speed. Here are some options i have seen:

Velovitec Speed Puck $250

Garmin Forerunner 205 $114 ( i like this one but does it say speed? i don't want heart rate. is it waterproof?)

I have a Garmin 405 I use for running and cycling. It is similiar to the 205 just more features. It will show speed but when running it jumps around quite a bit so I am not sure how it would work sailing. Seems much steadier on the bike.

You don't mention it but you might find the mapping capabilities useful post race. You can download information from the watch to your computer and see where you have been and what your speed was on each split. I only use mile splits on mine but I think you can set the splits to whatever distance you want. The software shows your speed for each split.

You might also be able to use the virtual partner if it has that feature. Set your target pace/speed (vmg) and it will let you know if you are keeping up.

Good idea you have. May be more benefits to having one than you are considering
