Franks lies aside the class continues to grow. No Frank I still don't get paid by the class (or anyone else) to point out and refute your lies - I just enjoy racing in the class and watching you make a fool of yourself with regards to: Physics, Sailing, TP 52 class rules, TP 52 class members, Racing Rules of sailing, Yacht design, Law and several other areas that you extreemly limited knowledge of.

On Tuesday, when it was blowing from the south and the swells had built, we hit 19.3 kts on my son's j80. Felt like being in a tunnel with a firehose. That is one wet, but totally fun, boat.

If Zoro wants a TP52 he should have one. The marketing of these vessels is the study in boat design that is important. I mostly object to putting the boats out to pasture in my back yard. They really are a burdon on the sailing clubs unfortunate enough to have to support them and do nothing for the Rise of the American Sailor. This is because they are little more than training vessels. There is a reason beginners start with keel boats. It has nothing to do with superior design. Movable ballast is superior design. Just look at Mac26x vessels....

I have been invited to the 2006 International Sandwich Symposium whose main theme is Coring Hull Bottoms. Actually I have been invited multiple times now and April 20th is around the corner. So lets stop joking around. The TP52s and their likely paid bloggers who have done much to slow progress on movable ballast designs like Macgregors and VO70s and adoption of IRC are giving way to all kinds of retractable foil designs. So unless the invites are a big April fools joke, I expect to meet a few more of you all in person.

I too had an invite to that symposium. As did every other designer I know. To have been invited is really just a question of "Who might be willing to pay us $600?" rather than "Who is qualified enough to attend?"
Then you have to consider the source (Diab).

I am invited as a delegate. My head - my head! It looks like a sincere outreach. But I do get a lot of joking. The field of boat building and designing is changing fast. What did you think of the second Zoro Film? Antonio is or wants to be a TP52 sailor. I could not help notice, being a Seattle boy, that in the film the evil empire was called One World as in the Seattle Yacht Club's design cheating AC syndicate.

SSSS is having its next two performance sailing seminars on modern boat construction. One of the big problems is that you can not see light through the hull with sandwich construction. This makes the interior a dark cave like structure. But one great advantage is that any one with a shed and neighbors that are tolerant might be able to build. I am hoping for some good Larry AC boat information from the seminar. We have been drinking Scullers IPA since the first hull was flown out of Seattle. This beer is brewed the closest to where the hulls were built. I'll have some at the seminar. Anyway consider attending. Yacting history is happening.

Can anyone confirm that Buchan and Parker are having new TP52's built? I got confirmation that Parker is not buying a used one, but got a no comment when asked about a new one.

3 tp52s in seattle would rock.

I know that they have talked to a few designers and are interested in a faster boat. Also Sudie does have a sweet spot for Cookson built boats. However, I know that they want a boat that can be "cruised" also. Knowing the costs involved, I would think they would buy Icon before a new TP52.
