Nice boat, but with respect it really has no claim to the "skiff" title as it has been used in high-performance sailing for the past 50 years or more. No skiff has ever carried a load of lead like that.

The term "skiff", in high performance sailing, has a distinct history and maybe it shouldn't just be chucked at a sportsboat just because it's a trendy name. That turns a useful, descriptive term into another piece of devalued marketing ********.

Sure, words develop, but if we just start changing their meaning because we feel like it, useful terms just become meaningless.
