Raising outboard?

Hello, Not sure if this thread is still going but... I have a '79 Precision Seaforth and have the outboard version which has a hole in the back of the cockpit about 1.5' x 2' wide. It sits right under the tiller. Does anyone else have this design that has found a good method for raising the motor during sailing or even between sails? Taking it all the way out and putting it back in isn't the easiest venture but being in the San Francisco bay, I'm subject to pretty intense currosion otherwise.

Also, given that my 5HP 4 stroke Honda just got a hole in its block from corrosion, I'm now in the market for a new one. Any recommendations on good motors for this boat?

Thanks to any/ all that reply.
