Sailboat diesel motor??????????????

Hi: I found on ebay and then in the web a company in Australia www.marinediesel.com.au they have izusu motors prepare to marine purpose like yanmar and other company's. The prices are amazing example one 29hp with tranny $3875 on ebay completly new. If anyone have any kind experience with izusu's or maybe this company???? One Volvo 29hp cost $8500 close to the double in price plus the expensive parts. Sounds like a good choice to me and they sell the parts too. Mario

Mario I cannot comment specifically about the product from first hand experience but I have seen it discussed in a local magazine. If I recall correctly there are also Kubota diesel conversions and the impression I got from reading the article was that they work very well. Both Kubota and Isuzu.

diesel

The marinized Kubota engines are marketed by Universal/Westerbeake. Used to be very popular in many production boats.

I have a truck sales yard in NZ, without a doubt, Isuzu are the best, most reliable engines of all the Japanese ones. My wife is Japanese & I travel there often to talk/deal with people in the motor trade and the Japanese people also rate Isuzu no 1 --- then Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi & poor Mazda last.
