| Perini Navi 'Legacy' Anyone know what happened to the Perini Navi 158 footer 'Legacy' that got stranded on the Florida Keys after the 2005 hurricane Wima? She was stuck for two and a half years before being finally freed but then simply dropped off the map. She needed a FULL refit/rebuild on top of her cost $16.5 million plus salvage costs (apparantly the owner was insured for these costs?) and I'm just curious to know whether she pulled through........... hopefully. |

| Thanks Doug. There are a number of reports from around teh period of teh grounding and eventual release but apparantly there were then legal issues and no one seems to confirm whether these were resolved and the yacht finally refitted. As you see from the pics on the link posted, she was quite heavily damaged by the time she was eventually refloated. One nice point, all throught the 2-3 year saga the owner refused to give up and hand her over to the insurers - he wanted his yacht back. |
