I am interested in hearing from sailors who have made passage through the Pacific High (map attached) or been becalmed there. Anybody have a story to tell?

After sitting three days in the sun on a mirror ocean the mermaids came - if it wasn't for the danged cold front we would have stayed. The high pressure had created a hole so deep that we were only doing 2 knorts in 20 knots of wind climbing out. I tell you we pulled so hard we bent every one of the oarlock.

And the radio repoted 100 degree temperatures in MN - I better get out of the sun.
