Very nice- I doodled something similar a few weeks ago and sent it to Karl W. snailmail. I pinched the stern rocker a bit later, a bit more, I think. More like a Class A cat. Karl said he'd get it posted. Somewhere. So how fast (or how much wind) do ya think you have to be going (in) to get into planing mode? I guessing a very 'yachty' feel. Smoooooooth.

You know I really have no idea how fast you have to go to start planing. Look at the Humpless thread and the Planing cat thread. ICs have a really low D/L ratio and don't have a big hole to climb out of so the transition is pretty smooth.

The deck will be made over the same mould as the hull, split at the mast position and flipped concave, stepped down aft at the seat.

Mould is now ready for the first carbon skin - deck first.

Planing?....
I don't know either.
It's going to be similar to moth in that it will go fast at 2-3 x hull speed displacement style, but is flat and wide enough to get planing too. - so the top speed should be faster than a non-planing ( non-foiling) moth .
The adjustable T foil should help determine whether it's bow down displacement, or bow up planing.
But the hump should be small, and exceeding hull speed easy. Just sailing it might be not quite so easy...

BTW, I showed your shapes to Bill B. and he liked them. He didn't know if the rounded one would plane, either, but it sure is sexy.

I'll post some jpgs of my latest effort when I solve a little CAD issue with the chines.

Working on a new, pan-capable US website where users will be able to post new photos, blog away about things, and generally carry-on in a canoe friendly atmosphere. Thought I'd ask. I thought I'd read something while surfing the web on a about a program that can model planing (and which I can't find again), and I thought if anyone would be using it, it would be you guys.....

Really cool how different your approaches are. For what it's worth, I'm obsessing on round cross sections.
