Yes, but where are the "prediction(s)... by several people how the introduction of foiling in the Moth Class was going to kill the class."????

I flicked through the latter part of the thread and could find nothing of the sort.

Mini foiler using "Dali" type main foils+rudder T-foil

This is a great illustration of just how little the IMOCA rule would have to be changed to allow the boats to really foil instead of foil assist:

Great blog describing the development of a new foil system for an R Class boat. Foiling has been legal for some time tin the R Class but these guys are trying something different than the wand control main foil + rudder t-Foil.
