By the way, in case you didn't know. Florida "crackers" were Florida cowboys. Bull whip toting rather than pistol packin.

Drivers of oxcarts headed south could be heard across the plains when they cracked their whips. They weren't necessarily cowboys but settlers arriving with all they owned.

Yeah, it kinda morphed into cowboy term but I prefer the older meaning. I qualify under all the earlier meanings but not the latter. I relate to the "superfluous breath" line from Shakespeare.

As to the plate, I'm too poor too, and why give the snowbirds a target? Better they think I'm one of them (at least until I open my mouth). :D

Ah! camoflage. Me too. I don't wear jungle or desert military fatigues or own any. I blend in by appearing "Normal". LOL :D

I blend in by dressing like a tourist; palms or bamboo on the shirt with shorts and black socks. :)

I like my Florida shirts! Worn all my life for formal occasions. Tee shirt informal occasions. Black socks more appropriate with sandalls than wingtips. i wear cowboy boots with shorts, so nobody sees my socks, which sometimes are mismatched. :D
