Monitor wind gear

Hi all
l was wondering if any one knows how the cranked push rod on monitor brand wind steering gear transfers its horizontal rotation to the servo pendulums vertical rotation ?

Imagine 2 bevel gears 90 from one another. Now chop out about three quarters off them and there you go. Its just 2 meshed, bronze, 90deg, bevel gear bits.
