Max Beam on DWL?

I'm new to yacht design and am enjoying a couple of the great software demos available online. What are the acceptable ranges for maximum beam on the water line in term of the DWL please? I see some at 55% DWL and other out at 65% DWL? Also, does it depend on the narrowness or otherwise of the hull?
Cheers, Ron.

try this forum thread:

balance

Max beam is usually associated with longitudinal center of boyancy, this ranges from, 3-6 % aft of lwl midpoint.

I hope this helps, dionysis
