location of Sailmaster 22 hull number?

I just acquired a 1965 Sailmaster 22. The mainsail says #149, and I've looked in all the usual locations for hull identification numbers but I can't find a hull identification number anywhere on the vessel. At the time the boat was built, hull identification numbers weren't required. Do other Sailmaster 22 owners know of hull #s on Sailmasters built prior to 1972? If so, where were these numbers located?

I am looking for a Sailmaster 22. Where did you get her? How did you find her?

Great boat. Keep us posted.

Hull #

I have a Sailmaster 22 Hull #103. I hace a broze plate mounter on the port side of the cockpit at the mahogany board that the traveler is mounted. It gives the Manufaturer and a place for the Hull # to be stamped in. Also says made in Holand. Hope this helps.

HIN numbers weren't required on boats until the end of 1973. Your hull may have a state assigned HIN which will be found on the title, probably on the registration too. The manufacture may have a hull number, which are usually located in an out of the way place on a structural element like a keel, deck beam, etc. Without company records, these types of numbers are useless.
