keel bulb design - help

    And then there's the keel blade... Man, if I only had a panel code!

    They're doing some research on keel bulbs at Chalmers Institute in Gothenburg, Sweden, but I don't think the results will be made publicly available :(

    Scaling the coordinates of an airfoil to the 3/2 will give the same pressure distribution but not the same boundary layer as in 2D. The boundary layer also depends on the radius of the keel and this has cannot be neglected.

    Yes, the 3/2 law comes from potential flow theory (cylinder/sphere relation) and therefore neglects influence of viscosity. THe boundary layer has a significant effect on the aft part of the bulb.
