What really is missing is a statement of what your expectations are and a statement regarding just how far you are willing to go with her. There's nothing to stop you from splashing her as is and then beginning negotiations with her as to sort of upkeep she expects. You can set yourself a budget rule such as $10 and one hour of maint for every hour on the water. Then just see where you are in a couple years and revise as necessary if she proves her worth, which I think she will. You don't owe this boat anything- yet. The worst that can happen is being mad that you didn't fix some annoyance sooner.

I disagree about the relevance of your professional skillset. If you can shoe horses, you can work on this boat. You already have the tools and it's pretty much the same order of business.

    help me rig this boat

The restoration of this old boat has gone very well. NOt much rot and pretty solid - very little beer and/or moaning!

Unfortunately I have none of the original rigging and am to that point.....

I don't know where to go from here. Help!

Where might I find advice/specs on mast height, size of boom and other rigging particulars.

    Measurements?

LL, get a tape measure and a helper and post the results. Beam, length, depth, mast set back from bow, pic of the mast step area, fittings still on the hull, ect. Help us help you. I probably have much of what you need in my basement, as do others here, but size DOES matter:rolleyes:
    Good luck, B

Thank you everyone for the information provided so far.

In hopes of sailing this boat this year I have gone and taken some measurements for the owner. Any help in locating lofting plans for the Rig (mast and boom) would be greatly appreciated. I believe the mast design should be like the Sjogin as previous posters have identified, which I am grateful for.

I am a boat wright graduate from IYRS and can do the work that needs to be done to get her back on the water. I need some help with the Rig please. Any information you can provide would be a tremendous help, thank you.

    1. Lofting plans for a Mast and boom or best guess.
    2. Sail plans.
    3. Information on a Sail Maker for tea colored sails.

P.S. The mast step is not original.

Here are the dimensions of the boat.

    LOA 19'
    Beam 68"
Distance from stem to front of mast partner 88 1/2"
Distance from the fore stay to the mast 74"
Distance from the mast to the stern 135"
