Even if this is considered a monohull I get the impression that the hollows will not be looked upon very favourably by a rating rule?

If it gives any significant advantage, you can be sure the rules committee will revise the rules to disallow it for next season.

Where do you draw the line between mono-hull and multi? It is just a matter of degree, and the rule can be altered accordingly at any time.
