*Help* We call for more info. about our Dutch Steel Yacht Hi! We are a pair from Sweden that finally found our ”Dreamboat”. Now when the winter is coming we thought it would be a god time to go deeper in to the history of the Boat. We do have the common information about her, but we could not understand Dutch so the internet couldn’t help us so far. So we are hoping for that this contribution could give us some help on the way! We want to know everything about the boat, and not at least is there any “sister boats”? The boat is built by N.V. Nicolaas Witsen & Vis. Alkmaar 1958 and designed by G.W.W.C. Baron Van Höevell. We do know that her name was DROMARA when she was sold the first time. On the originaldrawing we find following text: D. AUX. BERM._C.B YACHT (STEEL) Nr. 16856. Sixhaven. Amsterdam Holland samt Official No. 187880. The boat dimension is: 12.20 x 3.55 meters and a weight for about 15 tons. If anyone recognize this boat or have something to tell, know some links etc… We are interested in all that have any connection to this boat! We do have a homesite in English, where you can find more information about the boat and us… *Many thanks in advance* /Lasse & Annica Gothenburg

Lasse/Annica Re DROMARA Baron Van Hoevell used to be a well known Dutch designer who raised international recognition with his design "Oranjebloesem" built by Mulder & Rijke in IJmuiden. Hans Maurenbrecher sailed in an Oranjebloesem around the world till he got lost on the Great barrier in Australia. Looking at Dromara, you see some similarities with "Oranjebloesem". I believe that Nicolaas Witsen still exists in Alkmaar, I think further that you have a very interesting yacht. I can (I think) explain the words D, aux. Berm. the number and the word stam. The yacht was officially registered, therefore her "stamnummer" explaining the word stam; Berm. means Bermuda (rig) D. aux = auxiliary diesel and CB might stand for centreboard. Tonight I will check for you on the sites I know if there more is to find about your boat. Good Luck!

Hi D’Artois & thanks for your answer! It was very good information, we also tried to search at the ”Hans Maurenbrecher och Oranjebloesem” We found a book and some information about Hans, but it all seems to be in Dutch… We keeps our fingers crossed that there will be more information about the boat in Holland! Again, many thanks for your help *Best Regards* /Lasse & Annica
