Help ID older wooden sailboat

I'm refurbishing an older wooden sailboat and I can't figure out its design. The length is 11' 3.5" and its width is 54.5". The chines are hard with plywood skins. A sloop rig with wooden spars. Center board and a skeg. Some pictures are included, I hope.

I'd like to know the type of sailboat. I've worked with common designs, like Snipes and Lightnings, but this one is not familiar to me.

I do not recognize it, but it looks like something that might have been published in the old "Popular Mechanix" or "Poplar woodworking" type of magazines. If you do a search for "free boat plans" you will find a web site with all of these great old plans that someone scanned and made available on the internet.

Also, does it really matter? It might have been self designed, or a highly altered standard design. I rarely follow the plans when I build a small boat, I make variations to suite my interests or curiosity.

Good luck.

Nice looking little boat. Try to get beyond the geneology and just enjoy it.

It looks very similar to a Heron take a look at http://www.heron-dinghy.org.uk/photo-gallery.html and see if you agree.A Google search will provide a good number of links.

I was thinking the same thing - or possibly an Enterprise if there are baby blue sails in the vicinity.
