Well I think I have made a decision and I thank all of you for your input.

I have looked at several boats that you all have pointed out and folks from other forums pointed out. From everything I have seen and read I really beleive a cape dory typhoon or a Victoria 18 would be exactly the type of boat I am looking for.

I probably will end up with a Victoria 18 because I can find them fairly easily within driving distance and they tend to cost about half what the Typhoons tend to cost for comparable condition. I may just keep the whitehall as well because when you have 4+ people in it is is fun boat to sail.
